Sermons

January 3rd   - 1 Corinthians 13:8-13  Chip Gatto

Summary: Love is great because it endures and through it we know God – in this imperfect age only partially through spiritual gifts, but in the perfect age to come, fully, face-to-face.  Therefore, press on to know the Lord through the gifting he has given to the church, yet long for that day when you will see and know him face-to-face.

January 10th - Not recorded due to a technical problem.

January 17th - 1 Corinthians 15:12-19  Chip Gatto

Summary:  If the apostles were lying about seeing Jesus raised from the dead, then we are still in the guilt of our sins, having no hope in this life or the life to come, and are to be pitied above all men. Therefore, test the apostle’s testimony to the resurrection of Christ and understand the implications of Jesus’ resurrection concerning your sins.

January 24th - 1 Corinthians 15:29-34  Dr. Allen Crist

Summary: There is a dictum… there is a practical reality that needs to be understood; wrong doctrine leads to wrong living.  If we do not believe in the resurrection and keep it in mind, then we will live as if there are no consequences for our actions.  On the other hand, if we believe in the resurrection and the eternal joy that awaits us, it motivates us to endure suffering and live sacrificially in the hope of our ultimate salvation.

January 31st - 2 Corinthians 4  Dr. Allen Crist

February 7th - 1 Corinthians 16:1-24  Chip Gatto

Summary: The responsibilities of the Christian life, from beginning to end, are varied, demanding and under attack.  Therefore, we must be on guard, firm in the faith, as strong leaders acting like men, doing all things in love.

February 14th John 1:1-5   Chip Gatto

Summary: Jesus, the Son of God, is the creator of the world and gives light and life to mankind in this dark and fallen world. Therefore, if you want light in this very dark place, you must believe in Jesus.

February 21st - John 1: 14-18

February 28th - John 1:35-51

Summary: The true disciple of Jesus believe him to be the Messiah and consequently, they follow him and in doing so see and realize great things through Him. Therefore, if you are a true seeker, come and see for yourself who it is that Jesus claims to be and be prepared for the prospects of seeing and realizing true light and life through him.

March 7th - John 2:12-22   Chip Gatto

Summary: Jesus is the meeting place between God and man.  If someone wants to have a relationship with God, it must happen through Jesus alone.

March 14th - John 3:14-21  Chip Gatto

Summary: God's love for the world is revealed in his giving up his Son, Jesus, to the punishment of crucifixion so that people might believe in Jesus and pass from condemnation to eternal life.  Therefore, leave the darkness and come to the light of Jesus as you manifest to the world God's great salvation.

March 21st - John 4: 1-26  Chip Gatto

Summary: This fallen world makes men parched and only Jesus can truly slake their thirst and in doing so enable them to worship God as they ought - in spirit and truth.  If we are will to recognize that this world does not satisfy your deepest desires, come to Jesus and receive satisfaction not only in this life, but in the one to come.

March 28th - John 4:43-54  Chip Gatto

Summary: True faith is when one that believes in Jesus without needing to see him perform miraculous signs and wonders, on demand, before one's eyes.  Trust Jesus to do what he has promised and already proven he will do, and he will deliver you from death in all its manifestations.

April 4th - Easter Message -

April 11 - John 5:17-30  - Chip Gatto

Summary: Jesus is equal with God in all respects and he proves this by his authority to give life and death to whom he pleases.  And so it is imperative that we believe in Jesus' word and receive the life that he offers to us.

April 18th  - John 6:1-35  - Chip Gatto

Summary: Jesus, in keeping with God his Father, provides for all the needs of his people and is therefore worthy to be sought after.  We ought to seek him out, but in so doing, recognize what it is that we need most from him.
